Erith Town U23s/U18s Play for the Tommy Crush Foundation
Erith Town U23s & U18s are to play a charity match against Glebe U18s on Wednesday 31st July in aid of the Tommy Crush Foundation to raise money to support teenagers vulnerable to suicide. The match will take place at our Bayliss Avenue ground, kick-off at 19:45.
For those that don’t know, Tommy was a happy, fun, smart, handsome boy who had lots of friends and who was loved. He was not someone who looked lost, anxious, depressed or sad. This is why we need to raise awareness and show people that it’s not what is on the outside, it’s the bit we can’t see.
The Foundation’s aim is to raise the necessary funds and awareness to try and change the outcome for another young person who may be suffering in silence and to stop another family losing a son, daughter, brother or sister.
They are currently in the process of delivering specific mental health awareness training within the grassroots community, most recently working with over 40 coaches at Charlton Community Trust and over the coming months we will be delivering the same to the London City Lionesses.
Every penny, a kind word, an act of love and just knowing someone out there can help will mean Tommy will not have left this world in vain.
