MIND Charity Appeal – Carter Puts A Pin In It By taking small steps, we can make a significant impact
@carter_puts_a_pin_in_it social media channels follows the adventures of a football loving little boy called Carter Pitney and his efforts to raise awareness of mental health issues. This time around, Carter set himself a challenge to visit 26 grounds around the UK (all the letters of the alphabet) within 48 hours for his partner charity MIND. This latest run started on Thursday 8th August at Welling United and finished at Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium (for a game V Bayern Munich) on Saturday 10th August.
Carter came to visit Erith Town on Thursday evening where he was met by Dockers’ manager Adam Woodward for a quick chat and a photo to add to his social media. As a momento of his adventures, Carter collects pin badges and adds them to a huge map of the UK and London highlighting the highs of all the grounds. So far he has visited 300+ grounds with 200+ badges already on the board.
We all know that our beloved sport has the power to create positive change beyond the pitch. Football clubs have a unique platform to reach millions of fans and supporters. By actively promoting mental health awareness, clubs can contribute significantly to breaking down stigma and encouraging open conversations. carter hopes that his visits highlight how teams, clubs, and even attendance at grounds can support this.
We believe that Football is more than just a game; it’s a community. By prioritizing mental well-being, clubs can strengthen this sense of community and make a lasting impact on people’s lives. Together, we can create a football community that prioritizes mental health, supports those in need, and fosters resilience. By taking small steps, we can make a significant impact.
