Beat the Goalie at the Thamesmead Festival

Dockers Take Part in Thamesmead Festival

Prior to last weekend’s game with Ashford United in the Isthmian South-East Division, committee members from The Dockers joined the fun at the Thamesmead Festival at Birchmere Park.

Being based in the Fun Zone, alongside a number of fan events and children’s rides, our team invited all the local talent to take part in an exciting ‘Beat-The-Goalie’ penalty shootout competition, and children from all ages and backgrounds were able to take part and have their chance to showcase their talents to those at Erith Town. As well as meeting lots of local residents and giving everyone at the festival the chance to find out more about the club, it was great to see our friends from Peabody and Thamesmead Now, and trying some wonderful food outlets such as Joy’s Caribbean Fusion!

Speaking of the day, Head of Youth & Community, Michael Avery said, “What a day at the Thamesmead Festival! It was brilliant to have had the opportunity to meet so many people from Thamesmead and the wider area, and also being able to see so many friendly faces. At Erith Town, we work so hard on being an establishment which the local area can rely on as a solid pillar of the local community, and being able to be a part of the Thamesmead Festival enables us to show that we are accessible if anyone needs our support. From a personal point of view, I’d like to thank both Robert Grant and Brian Silk for all their support and assistance on the day, but also the organisers of the festival and Peabody for enabling us to come down and be a part of the day.”
