Erith Town Partner with Anti-Knife Crime Organisation
FKCL is a well-established and increasingly respected part of the work being done in Greater London to empower young Londoners and change their lives for the better. FKCL provide information to young people on organisations which will help them obtain a number of skills and mentoring to help them improve their way of life. FKCL’s ethos from the day that they launched has been to trumpet the work done by others, in every kind of place, to raise up young people, or to provide encouragement to them and to signpost life-changing prospects. Whether it is helping young Londoners find a job, find a mentor, make friends or discover a passion for a wide range of activities, FKCL has a platform full of organisations who will work with young people to help them get away from knife crime and present them opportunities for positive change.
Speaking of the new partnership, Head of Youth & Community, Michael Avery said, “Erith Town Football Club continues to work tirelessly to be a pillar for our local area, and we will continue to strive to be an organisation where young people can come to our club to feel safe and welcomed. Whether it’s to come along to one of our games as a fan, a youth player who is on the #DockersPathway, a volunteer behind the scenes, a member of our mental health football schemes or a player in our walking football, we will continue to keep working to be somewhere for the local area to come along to if they would like to learn or develop new skills. We at Erith Town feel that every young person should be given the opportunity to learn, grow and develop with the right support and guidance so we are delighted to be working with Fighting Knife Crime London, and see what we can do to improve the lives of young people in our area.”
The club and FKCL will be arranging an Anti-Knife Crime Fixture in the coming weeks, and for more information on this organisation, please visit: https://www.fightingknifecrime.london/
