Dockers Pre-Season Round-Up
With a historic first season in tier four on the horizon, it was vital for Erith Town to get some preseason games of real quality and intensity under their belts, and get us all used to what we can expect on the 3rd August in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round against Pagham FC, and then the following week against Ashford United in the Isthmian League South-East Division on 10th August.
The club have recently arranged games against the likes of Sporting Bengal United, Raynes Park Vale, FC Elmstead, Lewisham Borough and Greenways FC and there have been a lot of very positive results and plenty of goals, but more importantly there have been several challenges to overcome to get Adam Woodward’s squad ready for the upcoming campaign.
Along with the above, there has also been additional silverware to be added to the growing trophy cabinet, as The Dockers secured the Martin Tarrant Trophy after defeating Erith & Belvedere 4-1 in a midweek preseason cup final fixture at Park View Road.
This was followed by a battling 2-1 away win at SCEFL Premier Division team, Holmesdale FC and we look to finish the remainder of our preseason calendar with games against a Bromley XI at Stanmore Stadium on Tuesday evening, 23rd July and the final pre-season fixture, just over the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, as we play away to Bowers & Pitsea on Saturday 27th July.
Hope to see you there!
