Walking Football Kicks-Off at Erith Town!
In recent weeks, Erith Town in partnership with Peabody, has been working around the clock to establish Walking Football, a community initiative to get people back into the game that they love – and what a game it was!
Walking Football may be played at a slightly slower pace than the nail-biting action of our First Team in the SCEFL Premier Division, but the passion and skill level from yesteryear was there for all to see. Speaking of our new community initiative, Walking Football Co-ordinator, Robert Grant said, “Walking Football is a huge passion of mine, and to have had the number of players we had for our very first session was absolutely fantastic, it really shows the popularity of this growing sport.
But, these sessions aren’t just restricted to those who have already come along and registered, anyone is welcome to Erith Town Walking Football and the more the merrier! It’s a great way to meet new people, keep active and stay involved in football and we would also like to thank Peabody for all of their fantastic support with getting this project off the ground.”
Erith Town Walking Football, in partnership with Peabody, is every Friday evening on the 4G pitches at Stanmore Stadium, Baylis Avenue, SE28 8NJ from 8:00pm-9:00pm.
