Erith Town and Sporting Club Thamesmead Announce Development Partnership
Erith Town and Sporting Club Thamesmead are pleased to announce a partnership which will continue our development pathway for young players in the area.
Dean Flower, Head of Football Operations said “This will bridge the gap between under 23’s and step four football, providing a structure to young players with experience at step six and allowing them to develop whilst gaining experience in the men’s game. This initiative will provide them with a greater opportunity to progress into the first team at Erith Town“.
Sporting Club Thamesmead reserves will next season be managed by Marc Petters and assisted by Jamie Wood. Marc and Jamie were U23s title winners last season and will now be able to provide valuable learning opportunities for players developing from our recent U18s Premier League winning side .
Both clubs have always majored on giving local young players opportunities and both clubs are looking forward to developing players from step seven with a clear pathway to step four.
Lee Hill, Sporting Club Thamesmead Chairman, said “We hope that local young players looking for a chance to progress in the game will see this pathway as the one to be on, learning and gaining valuable experience at one of the best facilities in the area in South East London.”
